Waste transfer yard in Stoke-on-Trent
If you’ve hired S J Walchester Ltd for muck away services or aggregates, here’s how we do it all. Learn more about our waste transfer yards, where they’re located and how they help our teams deliver.
One name that does it all
A waste transfer yard is where recycled aggregates get separated and segregated into their own sections ready for re-use. Some of the waste collected from our demolition, muck away and site clearance projects gets deposited here by our 8-wheel tippers, depending on the quality and class of material.
We have two transfer yards, one at either end of Stoke-on-Trent, allowing us to cover a large area and respond to our clients’ needs quickly. Call us today to find out which one of our transfer yards you are closest to and find the correct solution to your needs.

Allowing us to offer quality aggregates
Our waste transfer yards allow us to sort and deliver some of the best quality aggregates Staffordshire and Cheshire has to offer. Our sites are fully equipped with wheel washes, weighbridges, dust suppression systems and modern plant machinery to allow us to work with efficiency and precision in mind. By doing so, we can guarantee aggregates will be delivered to your doorstep on time and at a competitive price.
Material grading
Depending on the nature of your construction, a specific grade may be required for the materials you use. In these instances, we can send your chosen materials for lab testing to ensure they can meet your needs. A full scientific report will be provided upon completion.
Screeners and crushers
We have one screener, one Powerscreen and two crushers which allow us to process aggregates for a range of uses. In 2020 we welcomed an out-the-factory Powerscreen® Warrior 1400x scalping screen alongside a McCloskey J45 crusher to complete the family. These now work in harmony with our Sandvik QJ341 with Security+ crusher and our Terex Finlay screener.
Helping us deliver for you
WE GO THE EXTRA MILE
At our waste transfer yards, we aim to only accept aggregates, which we have the expertise and equipment to process accordingly. All other materials are used in our lands or repurposed through different sources, which allows us to reuse 80% of all products we collect.
In addition to crushers and screeners, our sites have one way entrances and exits, sites offices and site welfare, to ensure health and safety remains at the forefront of our processes. Find our main centre at: Nash Peake Street, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 5BS
